MANSON — A man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault after another man reported that someone pointed a firearm at him and followed him in a vehicle as he drove away Oct. 4.
Chelan County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at about 9:24 p.m. to a report of an assault involving a firearm in the 200 block of Summer Breeze Road.
The man told deputies he was visiting a friend when an unknown vehicle arrived and someone from the vehicle pointed a firearm at him, according to the sheriff’s office.
As he left, the vehicle followed him. He reported hearing at least one possible gunshot while driving away.
Deputies obtained additional information about the vehicle while responding and located it a short time later. They conducted a high-risk vehicle stop and took three people into custody.
Investigators identified Anthony Navarrete as the primary suspect and driver, according to the sheriff’s office. He was arrested and booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on suspicion of second-degree assault.
Deputies recovered a firearm during the investigation and impounded the vehicle. The sheriff’s office said Oct. 7 that a search of the vehicle was pending a search warrant and that the investigation remained active.
The release did not identify the other two people taken into custody or describe whether they face any charges.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office tip line at 509-667-6845.
