CASHMERE — Everyday routines, young love and the passage of time take center stage when the Cashmere High School Drama Department presents Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town” Oct. 21, 22 and 24.
The classic American play follows life in the fictional small town of Grover’s Corners, exploring how ordinary moments shape lives and relationships. Director Brady Dundas, who teaches English language arts and theater at Cashmere High School, described it as “a poignant reflection on the beauty of ordinary moments.”
Performances begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are available only at the door and cost $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Seating is general admission, first come, first served.
Makenna Fritz, a past Wenatchee Apple Award nominee, will portray Emily Webb, with Micah Meloy playing George Gibbs. Georgia Hemmer and Grace Hodges will take on the roles of the Stage Managers.
The ensemble also features Emmett Brown, Ella Gemeinhart, Aaron Beardslee, Avonlea Hemmer, Jillian Daweritz, Claira Guerin, Abitha Dowling, Zoe Caruso, Olivia Ray, Kamren Meloy, Addy Aguigui, Alison Lopez, Medora Sharpe, Tily Richmond, Ember Eickerman and Verity Chrismer.
For Dundas, the production is an opportunity for residents to reflect on the everyday experiences that connect the play’s small-town setting with their own community.
“Join us for this moving production and celebrate the moments that make our town—and every town—special!” Dundas said.
