WENATCHEE — Residents can tour Wenatchee High School, review proposed facility plans and talk with students, teachers and architects during an Oct. 13 open house ahead of the district’s $275 million bond vote.
The event runs from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with visitors meeting at the school’s main entrance.
The school is inviting voters, parents and community members, with a special invitation to families whose children will attend WHS in the coming years.
The event will offer a firsthand look at the existing campus and plans for modernized learning spaces before the Nov. 3 election, according to a statement from Wenatchee High School.
Visitors will be able to speak with students and architects who contributed to the design process. Teachers and staff will also share information about the school’s instructional pathways, career and technical education programs, science and the arts.
If voters approve the measure, the modernized high school is projected to open in fall 2030. Today’s fifth-graders would be the first class to attend all four years in the updated facility.
The bond proposal also includes replacement heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems at seven other district schools: Lewis & Clark, Newbery, Mission View and Sunnyslope elementary schools, and Foothills, Orchard and Pioneer middle schools.
The district says those improvements would provide better air filtration during wildfire smoke events and help maintain consistent classroom temperatures during extreme heat.
Details about the bond proposal, facility plans and property tax calculators are available at wenatcheeschools.org/bond.
