Plain Valley Nordic Team raises over $35,000 at annual fundraiser

Posted

PLAIN - The Plain Valley Nordic Team (PVNT) raised $36,517.56 at their annual fundraiser on November 3 at Wildflour Restaurant, combining both online and live fundraising efforts.

The organization collaborates with local landowners to maintain 25km of daily groomed ski trails at Plain Valley Ski Trails. Net proceeds from trail pass sales, donations, and grants directly support PVNT's youth ski education programs.

Founded in 2015 with five participants, PVNT has expanded to serve over 120 children through year-round programs. The organization provides equipment, travel assistance, and scholarships for barrier-free access to skiing. The program includes four levels of learning for ages 2 through 18.

PVNT's programming includes adult ski clinics and the Plain Valley Adventure Women (PVAW) program. PVAW offers summer and winter activities focused on environmental exploration, arts, and outdoor skill development.

The organization's mission is to create and sustain a high-quality ski trail system serving the community and funding barrier-free ski educational programs that motivate individual and team achievement.

Season passes for 2024-25 are currently available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the youth ski education program.
