LEAVENWORTH — Kris Kringl will host a special 40th-year anniversary celebration at this year’s Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival, featuring artists, demonstrations, raffle prizes, sweet treats and festive holiday inspiration on Sept. 26.

Established in 1986, Kris Kringl is a family-owned Christmas shop located in the heart of Leavenworth. Known as “Where It’s Christmas All Year Long,” Kris Kringl has welcomed millions of guests over the past four decades, offering ornaments, collectibles, personalized keepsakes, and holiday décor from around the world.

“Over the past 40 years, Kris Kringl has enjoyed meeting generations of families visiting Leavenworth and making memories,” said Jessica Evans of Kris Kringl. “This celebration is our way of thanking the community and visitors from around the world who have made Kris Kringl part of their holiday traditions.”

Kris Kringl will host several special guests throughout the day, including Christopher Radko Designer Joseph Walden, Department 56 Villages Designer Paul Lundberg, Old World Christmas Brand Ambassador Joe Murphy, Glow Decor Artist Dona Gelsinger, Inner Beauty Artist Trieste Cordova, and local artist Candice Ann. The artists will be available to meet guests and sign pieces. A special appearance will also be made by this year’s Royal Lady of the Autumn Leaves, Jenny Evans.

The artists will lead a series of special events over the afternoon and evening following the festival’s grand parade. Raffle drawings will take place after each scheduled event. At 2 p.m., guests can learn how to personalize their own complimentary ornament with Candice Ann. At 3 p.m., Paul Lundberg will share the inspiration behind this year’s special 50th Anniversary Department 56 pieces. Starting at 4 p.m., guests can discover the ancient art of painting ornaments from the inside with Trieste Cordova. At 5 p.m. Joseph Walden will discuss his creative process and artistic approach behind his handmade European ornaments. At 6 p.m., Dona Gelsinger will do a live painting demonstration. At 7 p.m., Joe Murphy will close out the festivities with a discussion about ornament trends.

The winning story of Kris Kringl’s 40th Anniversary Story Contest will also be announced during the festival weekend, earning a $1,000 Kris Kringl shopping spree. The contest sought out stories that include their favorite family traditions, special celebrations, memorable visits, or meaningful moments connected to the store and community.

The Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival will take place in Leavenworth Sept. 25-27. The grand parade is scheduled to start at noon on Sept. 26.
