LEAVENWORTH — Cascade Medical Foundation raised more than $18,000 during its fifth annual Jive Time in the Cascades concert Aug. 29 at Silvara Cellars, with proceeds going toward new equipment for Cascade Medical’s Endoscopy Suite.
The fundraiser featured music by Bandits of the Animal Kingdom, wine from Silvara Cellars and food from Mission Burgers & Chicken. Ticket sales increased after wildfire smoke that had settled over the Leavenworth area cleared ahead of the event, according to the foundation.
“Despite the thick smoke that has recently settled over Leavenworth and the surrounding area, the skies cleared to a beautiful blue, and the evening brought a spectacular full moon,” said Shannon Keller, a Cascade Medical Foundation board member and co-chair of the Jive Time Committee. “It seemed as though the many positive forces had aligned to make this fundraiser a success!”
Proceeds will support the foundation’s $125,000 campaign to purchase equipment for Cascade Medical’s Endoscopy Suite. Planned purchases include an endoscope, colonoscopes, an ultra-high-definition video system and a big-wheel stretcher. The equipment is used in the detection, diagnosis and prevention of gastrointestinal diseases.
The foundation initially set a $101,000 fundraising goal for the project but expanded the campaign after reaching that amount earlier this year. Foundation board members expect to raise the remaining money by the end of the year through upcoming Benevolent Night events.
Cascade Medical Foundation has contributed more than $2.3 million toward medical equipment and health care improvements at Cascade Medical since 1992.
“Jive Time event co-chairs Shannon Keller and Kelly Wagman did a phenomenal job organizing the event,” foundation Chair Rich Adamson said. “Their commitment and focus to make the evening a blast for attendees and successful from a fundraising perspective, along with the support of our entire hard-working board, made the evening a truly memorable for all.”
Kahler Mountain Club and Silvara Cellars were major sponsors of the event. More than 45 businesses also donated items for the event’s Buy It Now fundraiser.
“The incredible support from our local business community continues to make these projects possible,” Keller said. “Their generosity directly helps expand access to high-quality healthcare close to home.”
Planning for the 2027 Jive Time event is underway under co-chair Kelly Wagman’s leadership.
