WENATCHEE — Commercial property owners and businesses looking to understand Washington’s Clean Buildings requirements can get guidance from local and regional energy experts during a free workshop Aug. 19 in downtown Wenatchee.
The Wenatchee Downtown Association will host a Clean Buildings Compliance Workshop from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Mercantile, 14 N. Wenatchee Ave. The workshop will also be offered virtually through Zoom.
The event is intended to help property owners determine whether their buildings are affected by the state requirements, understand upcoming compliance deadlines and learn what assistance is available as they work through the process.
Business owners and tenants are also encouraged to attend. The workshop will cover energy management and ways tenants can work with property owners to reduce energy consumption in the spaces they occupy.
Representatives from Chelan PUD, the Student Energy Team and McKinstry will participate. Topics will include building energy-use data, commercial incentives, energy audits, professional energy services and steps toward Clean Buildings compliance.
The workshop will conclude with a panel discussion and audience question-and-answer session, allowing property and business owners to ask participating organizations and energy professionals about their individual circumstances.
The workshop is free and available both in person and through Zoom. For more information, contact Wenatchee Downtown Association Executive Director Rosa Pulido at rosa@downtownwenatchee.org or 509-662-0059.
