Downtown association seeks applicants for three board vacancies

Posted

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Downtown Association is accepting applications for three upcoming vacancies on its Board of Directors, with new terms beginning in 2027.

The organization is seeking community members interested in helping guide its work in Historic Downtown Wenatchee. Board members provide leadership and support for WDA efforts including downtown economic vitality, promotion, beautification, historic preservation, business support and community engagement.

“We’re looking for people who care about downtown and want to play an active role in its future,” WDA Executive Director Rosa Pulido said. “Our board brings together different experiences and perspectives, and we’re excited to welcome new voices as we look ahead to 2027 and beyond.”

Applicants do not need to own a downtown business to serve on the board. WDA said it is encouraging people with a variety of professional backgrounds, skills and community connections to apply.

The nonprofit organization participates in the Washington Main Street Program and Main Street America, with a mission centered on preserving and strengthening the historic downtown district while supporting its businesses and economic vitality.

Applications opened Aug. 12 and will be accepted through Sept. 30. WDA plans to review applications and hold conversations with applicants in October, followed by a board vote in November. The three selected board members will begin their terms in 2027.
