Climb for Cats fundraiser to benefit Wenatchee Valley Humane Society

Posted

WENATCHEE — Wenatchee Valley Humane Society and Riverfront Rock Gym will hold a Climb for Cats fundraiser Sunday, Sept. 20, with half of day-pass proceeds going toward care for kittens in the community.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riverfront Rock Gym. The gym will donate 50% of day-pass sales during the event to the humane society's Save A Tiny Life campaign.

The campaign provides resources for kittens, including those that arrive at the shelter without their mothers. Wenatchee Valley Humane Society said it has helped more than 600 kittens find foster or permanent homes since kitten season began.

“Kitten season is one of the busiest times of the year for our shelter, and the support of our community makes a tremendous difference,” said BJ Andersen, Executive Director of Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. “Climb for Cats is a fun way for people to support kittens while enjoying a day at Riverfront Rock Gym.”

Kittens will also be at the event for attendees to interact with and potentially adopt.

Day passes cost $24 for people ages 14 and older and $18 for children 13 and younger. Equipment rentals will be available.

Wenatchee Valley Humane Society serves Chelan and Douglas counties and provides animal sheltering, medical care, adoption and animal control services, along with spay and neuter, vaccination, pet food assistance and other programs.
