WENATCHEE — Wenatchee Valley College has named Hanan Zawideh interim vice president of Organizational Culture, Retention, and Engagement. She began the position Sept. 8.

Zawideh has more than 15 years of experience in human resources, organizational culture and leadership in higher education, nonprofit, corporate and K-12 settings.

She most recently served as vice president of Human Resources and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Peninsula College, where she was a member of the president’s cabinet. Her responsibilities included human resources and payroll, labor and employee relations, collective bargaining, compensation, workplace investigations and compliance. She also served as the college’s Title IX coordinator and equal employment opportunity officer.

Before joining Peninsula College, Zawideh was chief equity and human resources officer at Children’s Institute in Portland, Oregon, where she developed the organization’s human resources function and a multiyear pay equity and compensation plan.

“I am energized to join Wenatchee Valley College because the college’s mission, values, and strategic priorities closely align with my own,” Zawideh said.

WVC President Faimous Harrison said Zawideh’s experience in higher education, human resources and organizational culture will support the college’s faculty and staff.
