Wenatchee AppleSox unveil 25th Anniversary Team ahead of 2025 season opener

Posted

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee AppleSox have announced their 25th anniversary team, honoring standout individual seasons as the club prepares to open its 25th season of play on Friday.

The commemorative roster includes eight fielders, a designated hitter, a utility player, five starting pitchers, a relief pitcher and a closer. While many of the honorees played multiple years with the club, the selection committee evaluated players based on their top individual performances in a single season.

The anniversary team was curated by AppleSox owner Jose Oglesby, who has led the team since 2018; current head coach Mitch Darlington, who took the helm in 2022; and outgoing broadcaster Joel Norman, who served as the team’s voice from 2018 through 2024.

Founded in 1999, the AppleSox debuted in the Pacific International League in 2000 before becoming a charter member of the West Coast League in 2005. Over 24 seasons, Wenatchee has claimed six league championships, nine division titles, and qualified for the postseason 16 times.

The club will open its 2025 campaign on Friday night against the Yakima Valley Pippins. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium. The three-game home series marks the start of a season that also commemorates a quarter-century of AppleSox baseball in North Central Washington.

Tickets and a full schedule are available at applesox.com/schedule2025.
