WENATCHEE — Joshua Willey has joined the board of directors for the Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center, bringing experience in regional planning and a lifelong connection to the Wenatchee Valley.
Willey, a lifelong valley resident, works in planning for Link Transit, where he helps develop transportation solutions that improve regional connectivity and quality of life. According to the dispute resolution center, his experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders and addressing community needs aligns with its mission of helping people navigate conflict through mediation, education and constructive dialogue.
The nonprofit provides mediation and conflict resolution services designed to help individuals, families, businesses and organizations resolve disputes outside of the courtroom. It also offers educational programs that teach communication and conflict management skills throughout Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties.
According to the organization, Willey was inspired to join the board because of his belief in its vision and the value of constructive conflict resolution. The organization said he also recognizes the importance of engaged board leadership in supporting efforts that strengthen relationships, foster understanding and help community members work through disagreements productively.
As a board member, Willey hopes to support the organization's mediation services, conflict resolution education and outreach efforts while helping expand awareness of the resources available across North Central Washington.
The Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center provides an alternative to resolving many disputes through the court system, offering voluntary, confidential mediation services that encourage participants to work together toward mutually acceptable solutions. The organization also provides facilitation services and conflict resolution training for schools, workplaces, nonprofits and other community organizations.
