WENATCHEE — Wenatchee High School has appointed Taylor Files and Bob Sanford as interim head coaches for the slowpitch softball program for the 2025-26 season. The appointments will allow the school’s athletics department time to conduct a broader search for a permanent head coach.

"We are thrilled that Coach Files and Coach Sanford are stepping in to lead the slowpitch softball program," said BJ Kuntz, Wenatchee High School athletic director. "Their combined experience and passion for developing student-athletes will be invaluable to our slowpitch program. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on our team."

Files, a former standout athlete at Eastmont High School, was a first-team All-Big-9 pitcher and multi-sport athlete who maintained a 4.0 GPA. She went on to pitch for Wenatchee Valley College, earning second-team All-Northwest Athletic Conference honors, and has coached the NCW Sundevils 14U team while providing private pitching lessons. She recently graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in education.

Sanford, a social worker at Wenatchee High School since 2018, has 12 years of experience coaching youth softball. A former multi-sport athlete at East Valley High School in Spokane, he later played basketball at Spokane Community College. He said he is motivated to help student-athletes build confidence and find joy in the sport.

The new coaches will lead the program beginning this season.
