WENATCHEE — Wenatchee Valley College has named Levi Vega-Sanchez interim head coach of its women’s soccer program following the departure of head coach Jennifer Ouellet.
Ouellet is stepping away from her position after leading the Knights women’s soccer team. According to the college, she helped foster a culture focused on growth, accountability and excellence for student-athletes both on and off the field.
“We are grateful for the leadership, passion, and commitment Jennifer has brought to our women’s soccer program,” WVC Athletic Director Greg Sparling said. “She has positively influenced countless student-athletes through her mentorship, dedication, and unwavering support of their success both academically and athletically. Jennifer’s commitment to building strong relationships and creating a positive team culture has had a lasting impact on our department. On behalf of the entire athletic department, I want to thank Jennifer for her contributions to Wenatchee Valley College and wish her continued success and happiness in her next chapter.”
Vega-Sanchez, who serves as assistant director of WVC Athletics, will assume the interim coaching role as the college evaluates the program’s long-term leadership plans.
According to the college, Vega-Sanchez has been part of the Knights coaching staff and previously served as interim athletic director before Sparling’s hiring. He also served as interim women’s soccer coach prior to Ouellet joining the program.
“We are excited to have Levi step into this leadership role,” Sparling said. “He understands our program, our student-athletes, and the values that guide Knights Athletics. We are confident he will provide stability and continue to foster a positive and competitive environment for our women’s soccer program.”
College officials said they will continue supporting Vega-Sanchez and the women’s soccer team as preparations begin for the upcoming season.
