WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley College Knights will host a community meet-and-greet with new athletic director Greg Sparling on Saturday, Jan. 17, in conjunction with the program’s men’s and women’s basketball games.
The Knights men’s basketball team is scheduled to play Walla Walla Community College at 2 p.m. Sparling will be introduced during halftime. The women’s basketball game will follow at 4 p.m., with a second introduction of Sparling during halftime.
A community social will be held following the men’s game halftime introduction in VIP Room 4024 at Smith Gym. Refreshments will be provided by the Wenatchee Valley Tech Center Culinary Arts Program, with beverages from Weinstein Beverage Co. and Pepsi-Cola of Wenatchee.
Additional events planned for the afternoon include the presentation of colors by American Legion Post 10 at the start of the women’s game. The National Anthem will be performed by Christie Robinson, a veteran and member of American Legion Post 10.
Admission to the games is free for Wenatchee Valley College faculty, staff and students.
