BUFFALO, N.Y. — Wenatchee Wild goaltender Tobias Tvrznik is participating in the National Hockey League Scouting Combine this week in Buffalo as he prepares for the 2026 NHL Draft.
The combine, which runs through Saturday, brings together 90 draft-eligible prospects from around the world for interviews with NHL teams, medical evaluations and fitness testing at KeyBank Center and LECOM HarborCenter. Tvrznik was one of 25 Western Hockey League players invited and one of five goaltenders selected to participate.
The Litomerice, Czechia, native is coming off a strong rookie season in the WHL, where he was named a finalist for the Del Wilson Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to the league's Goaltender of the Year. He also earned Western Conference Second Team All-Star honors.
Tvrznik posted 16 wins during the 2025-26 season and finished with a .913 save percentage, ranking third in the WHL. He recorded his first league shutout Feb. 6 in a 2-0 victory over the Victoria Royals.
Selected 10th overall in the 2025 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft, Tvrznik made an immediate impact in his WHL debut Sept. 20 against the Everett Silvertips, stopping 60 shots to tie a franchise record dating to the club's inaugural season as the Edmonton ICE in 1996. He recorded seven games with at least 40 saves during the season.
Tvrznik also committed to NCAA Division I program Ohio State University during the season. He was selected for the inaugural WHL Prospects Game but was unable to participate because of an injury.
Heading into this month's NHL Draft, Tvrznik is ranked as North America's eighth-best draft-eligible goaltender by NHL Central Scouting and the fourth-ranked goaltender from the WHL.
