Wenatchee Valley Museum’s Haunted Museum returns with new interactive twist

Posted

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center is bringing back its Haunted Museum attraction this October, this time with a new interactive element designed to blur the line between fright and participation.

The event, scheduled for Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 27-30, will guide guests in small groups through what organizers describe as “a fractured system programmed to protect you.” The storyline encourages participants to “follow the signs, trust the voice, obey The Protocol” while navigating the experience.

“We are not just scaring people this year, we are pulling them into the nightmare,” Haunt Creative Director Mark Belton said. “This year’s experience is bigger, darker, and more immersive than ever…and we can’t wait for guests to step inside.”

Visitors can begin their evening in the “Quarantine Zone,” where alcoholic beverages will be sold to patrons 21 and older. Tours will run from 6 to 9 p.m. each evening, with the final group departing at about 9 p.m. Tickets cost $25 online and $30 at the door. Groups of up to 10 can attend together, though larger parties may be split. Organizers caution that tickets may sell out and wait times may vary.

The museum warns that the attraction includes flashing lights, lasers, fog, loud noises, confined spaces, and other effects. Entry is not recommended for those with medical conditions, pregnant visitors, or children under 13. Refunds will not be issued.

The Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center is a nonprofit organization supported by the cities of Wenatchee and East Wenatchee. Its mission is to “gather, engage, and educate people to celebrate and preserve the history, arts, sciences, and rich diversity of our region”.
