Wenatchee Valley Children’s Guild Follies returns to Numerica PAC

Posted

WENATCHEE — On a winter night in downtown Wenatchee, there are few better places to be than inside Numerica Performing Arts Center, where the lights, the stage, and a room full of neighbors come together for something that feels both festive and familiar.

That’s the spirit behind the return of the Wenatchee Valley Children’s Guild Follies, a long-running community variety show that blends music, comedy, and local talent into an evening that is equal parts entertainment and tradition. This year’s production is directed by Jaime Donegan.

Traditionally, everyone who auditions for the Follies is given a spot in the show, a practice that has helped the production remain both inclusive and deeply rooted in the community, while also showcasing the depth of local talent in the valley.

The Follies is a fundraiser for the Wenatchee Valley Children’s Guild, which supports children’s programs and services throughout the community. Over the years, the show has become something of a reunion for performers and audience members alike, bringing together familiar faces, surprise appearances, and a mix of polished numbers and playful, self-aware humor.

This year’s show once again features a wide range of musical numbers, ensemble pieces, and comedic moments designed to keep the energy high and the mood light. For many in the audience, part of the fun is seeing neighbors, coworkers, and community members step into the spotlight and try something a little different.

While the Follies is built around laughter and spectacle, its purpose is rooted in something more lasting. Proceeds from the show help fund the Children’s Guild’s ongoing work in support of children and families in the Wenatchee Valley, making the night out both entertaining and meaningful.

The Wenatchee Valley Children’s Guild Follies will be performed at the Numerica Performing Arts Center Thursday, Feb. 5, and Friday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets and additional information are available through the Numerica Performing Arts Center and the Wenatchee Valley Children’s Guild.

For longtime attendees, the Follies is a tradition that marks the season. For newcomers, it is an easy, joyful introduction to one of the valley’s most enduring community fundraisers — a night built around shared laughter, local talent, and a good cause.
