Wenatchee Valley Chamber director resigns

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce will begin the search for a new executive director following the resignation of Steve Wilkinson, the organization's Board of Directors announced Thursday.

Wilkinson is stepping down after a tenure focused on strengthening regional partnerships, supporting local businesses and connecting entrepreneurs with resources throughout Chelan and Douglas counties. In announcing the leadership transition, the Chamber credited Wilkinson with helping advance collaboration and economic vitality across the Wenatchee Valley.

"I leave with profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve this remarkable community," Wilkinson said in a statement. "It has been an honor to work alongside such a talented Chamber team, innovative Board members, dedicated committee members, volunteers, and collaborative community partners."

Wilkinson said the relationships and shared accomplishments during his time with the Chamber would remain among the most rewarding experiences of his professional career.

"The Wenatchee Valley is a community defined by generous people, visionary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to building a stronger future," he said. "Serving as Executive Director has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional career, and I will always be grateful for the relationships, friendships, and shared accomplishments we achieved together."

Board Chair Kristen Hankins thanked Wilkinson for his leadership and said his collaborative approach helped strengthen both the Chamber and the broader business community.

"Steven has led the Chamber with integrity, vision, and genuine care for our business community," Hankins said. "His ability to bring people together, cultivate partnerships, and advance conversations around economic opportunity has strengthened both our organization and our region. We are grateful for his service and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career."

The Chamber's Board of Directors will now begin the process of selecting its next executive director. During the transition, the organization said it will remain focused on serving its members, supporting local businesses and championing economic vitality and quality of life throughout the Wenatchee Valley.
