Wenatchee seeks applicants for Planning Commission vacancy

Posted

WENATCHEE — The City of Wenatchee is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the city’s Planning Commission.

The city is seeking to fill one vacant seat for an unexpired four-year term ending Dec. 31, 2029. The seven-member commission plays an advisory role in shaping the city’s future growth and development by reviewing land-use policies and making recommendations to the City Council.

Among its responsibilities, the Planning Commission reviews proposed amendments to Wenatchee’s comprehensive plan, zoning code, subdivision regulations and environmental code. The commission also reviews and makes decisions on applications related to alternative parking analysis and transportation demand management and may consider other matters referred by the City Council.

Planning commissioners are appointed by a majority vote of the City Council without regard to political affiliation and serve without compensation. Members meet regularly at 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the Wenatchee City Hall Council Chambers.

Residents interested in serving on the commission are encouraged to apply. Applications are available through the city and may be submitted to City Clerk Tammy McCord at Wenatchee City Hall, 301 Yakima St., Wenatchee, WA 98801, or by email at cityclerk@wenatcheewa.gov.

Questions may be directed to McCord at (509) 888-3604.
