Wenatchee man arrested in love triangle shooting

EAST WENATCHEE — A 47-year-old Wenatchee man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that stemmed from a love triangle, East Wenatchee Police said Friday.

The incident occurred on June 5 at approximately 10:30 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 1000 block of Dolfay Lane. Upon arrival, they found a 33-year-old male victim who had been shot. The man was transported to Central Washington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Detective Sergeant Ben Fauconnier, the altercation began when the victim arrived at the location where his on-again, off-again girlfriend was present with another male. The two men engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated when one of them shot the other.

The suspect and the woman fled the scene following the shooting. On June 6, East Wenatchee Police Detectives identified the suspect and obtained a search warrant for the vehicle used during the crime and a residence in Wenatchee associated with the suspect.

During the execution of the search warrant, detectives arrested the 47-year-old male suspect and seized several firearms and over a pound of suspected methamphetamine.

The suspect has been booked into the Chelan County Regional Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 1st Degree and Assault 1st Degree.
