WENATCHEE—The Wenatchee Public Library will host a free program on Monday, Sept. 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The program will address the political divide in America.
The event, "Navigating Difficult Conversations," introduces attendees to Braver Angels, an organization described as "leading the nation's largest volunteer-led movement to depolarize America."
According to the event announcement, participants will "learn skills to look at your own polarization and start to develop strategies for having difficult conversations with people who disagree with you."
NCW Libraries, the Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center, and Our Shared Democracy are collaborating to offer this program. Our Shared Democracy is described as "a coalition of nine community organizations working to promote democracy and civic engagement."
Organizers note that space is limited for this in-person event and encourage interested individuals to reserve a seat through the Our Shared Democracy Facebook page.
For additional information, the event registration page, Our Shared Democracy Facebook page, and Braver Angels website are available as resources.
The program offers an opportunity to learn about the cross-partisan movement Braver Angels and its efforts to address political polarization in the United States.
