Three Spokane Falls players join AppleSox for 2026 season

WENATCHEE — Three Spokane Falls Community College players will remain in Washington for the summer after joining the Wenatchee AppleSox roster for the 2026 West Coast League season.

Outfielder Chase Edwards and pitchers Luke Brown and Tate Swanson bring a mix of collegiate experience and potential to Wenatchee as the AppleSox continue to add talent from around the Northwest.

Edwards, a sophomore outfielder from Seattle, has been a regular contributor for Spokane Falls during the past two seasons.

After batting .309 with 51 hits and 26 RBIs as a freshman, Edwards has appeared in 31 games this season, recording 28 hits and four doubles. While his offensive numbers have declined from a year ago, he remains one of the Sasquatches' most effective baserunners.

Edwards has stolen 54 bases during his collegiate career, including 35 during his freshman season. He has also been a reliable defender, committing only two errors in 81 career games for a .987 fielding percentage.

The Ballard High School graduate will be making his summer collegiate debut with Wenatchee.

Brown, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Spokane, arrives after spending the 2025 summer season with the Kelowna Falcons of the West Coast League.

The 6-foot-7 Gonzaga Prep graduate was regarded as one of Washington's top high school pitching prospects, earning recognition as the state's top-ranked right-handed pitcher in the Class of 2024 by Baseball Northwest.

Brown appeared in 13 games as a freshman at Spokane Falls, posting a 4.86 ERA while recording four saves and 16 strikeouts. His sophomore season has been limited to one appearance, making his role with the AppleSox an opportunity to gain additional innings and continue his development.

Swanson, a freshman right-hander from Snoqualmie, has emerged as one of Spokane Falls' most effective relief pitchers during his first collegiate season.

The 6-foot-4 Mount Si High School graduate has made nine appearances and compiled a 1.65 ERA, allowing just three earned runs. He has recorded seven scoreless outings while regularly working more than one inning per appearance.

His ability to provide length out of the bullpen could make him a valuable option for Wenatchee throughout the summer.

The additions of Edwards, Brown and Swanson strengthen the AppleSox roster with players familiar with Northwest baseball and experienced against junior college competition.

The AppleSox opened the season May 29 on the road against the Edmonton RiverHawks. Wenatchee's home opener is scheduled for June 5 against the Kamloops NorthPaws at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.
