Road construction resuming on 19th St NW and NW Cascade Ave

Posted
EAST WENATCHEE - Construction is set to resume Monday on a major road improvement project at the intersection of 19th Street NW and NW Cascade Avenue.

Contractors will initially focus on the shoulders of 19th Street NW, constructing retaining walls and relocating utilities. Beginning the week of March 10, a one-lane closure with an associated detour is expected to be implemented and will likely remain in place until the project's anticipated completion at the end of June.

The project, which began in August 2024, includes widening both roadways, adding dedicated bicycle lanes and sidewalks, and creating a new stormwater management facility.

Despite the construction, the Douglas County Law & Justice Building, Public Services Building, and 19th Street NW Trailhead Access will remain open throughout the duration of the work.

Officials are advising Apple Capital Loop Trail users to consider alternative access points during the construction period.

For additional information and project updates, residents are directed to visit the City of East Wenatchee's project page.
