Road closures, Link bus detour set for Winterfest “Fire Weekend” in Manson

MANSON — Motorists and transit riders should plan for road closures and a bus detour in downtown Manson during “Fire Weekend,” part of Lake Chelan Winterfest, later this month.

Wapato Way will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, and will reopen at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25. The closure will run from Totem Pole Road to Pedoi Street, affecting the core of the downtown Manson waterfront area.

During the closure, the Fire Bar and event stage will be set up near the end of Tike Street by Vibe Cellars.

Link Transit will detour its Manson stop during the event. The bus stop at the Trout building will be temporarily relocated up Totem Pole Road for the duration of the closure.

Event organizers said overflow parking will be available at Leffler Field, adjacent to Mountain View Lodge.

The road closure coincides with Winterfest’s Fire Weekend activities in Manson, which include live music around the Fire Bar on Friday and Saturday, a vendor market and Bubble Brunch on Saturday, a fireworks show Saturday evening, and the Viki Downey Polar Plunge at Manson Bay Park on Sunday.
