Registration opens for 3rd annual Give NCW Turkey Trot

Posted

WENATCHEE — Registration is now open for the third annual Give NCW Turkey Trot, set for Thanksgiving morning in Wenatchee. The popular community event launches the Community Foundation of North Central Washington’s (CFNCW) annual Give NCW online giving campaign, which raises funds for 100 nonprofits across the region.

The family-friendly race will feature timed 5K and 10K runs along the Apple Capital Loop Trail, as well as an untimed kids’ fun run held in the Pybus Public Market boat launch parking lot. All proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit organizations participating in the Give NCW campaign.

The race will start and finish at Pybus Public Market, with the kids’ race beginning at 9 a.m., followed by the 10K at 9:15 a.m. and the 5K at 9:30 a.m. Registration fees are $20 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K; the kids’ race is free. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 8 a.m. No day-of registration will be available.

New this year, participants can register their dogs for an additional $5. The first 150 dogs will receive a custom Turkey Trot bandana and be entered into a drawing for a Firehouse Pet Shop gift basket.

Two aid stations—one at the 5K turnaround and one at the 10K turnaround—will provide water and Gatorade. Porta-potties will be available at the start and finish areas.

The Wenatchee Valley Medical Group returns as presenting sponsor, with Cordell Neher & Co. and Cashmere Valley Bank as gold sponsors. The sponsorships help keep registration fees affordable and maximize funds returned to the region’s nonprofits. Café Mela will provide free coffee and hot cocoa, and Crunch Pak will donate apple snacks for participants.

The first 750 paid registrants will receive a pair of commemorative Turkey Trot socks. Runners are encouraged to dress festively—prizes will be awarded for “Best Dressed Individual” and “Best Dressed Group.” The winners will receive Giving Cards valued at $500 and $1,000, respectively, which can be used on the Give NCW platform to donate to local nonprofits.
