WINTHROP — The Patterson Lake Access Area, a popular site for anglers and recreational boaters near Sun Mountain Lodge, will be temporarily closed to the public from May 1 to May 14, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced.
The two-week closure will allow construction crews to install a new boarding float and complete final paving work as part of a broader redevelopment project at the site. The improvements aim to enhance safety, accessibility, and convenience for visitors while maintaining the lake’s natural setting.
The access area, which serves as a key entry point to Patterson Lake, draws visitors year-round for fishing, boating, and other outdoor activities. The lake supports a diverse fishery and is considered a regional destination for both locals and tourists.
To ensure the safety of visitors and construction personnel, the entire access area will remain closed throughout the construction period.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife stated it “appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these final upgrades are completed.”
WDFW manages public access to lakes and rivers throughout the state and is tasked with preserving, protecting, and perpetuating fish, wildlife and ecosystems, while supporting sustainable recreational and commercial opportunities.
