WENATCHEE — Police believe street racing led to a fatal crash Friday night, Nov. 21, that killed one juvenile and left two others in critical condition near the U.S. 2 and Easy Street roundabout.

According to the Wenatchee Police Department, a gray Audi A3 was reportedly racing another vehicle when the driver lost control while exiting from North Wenatchee Avenue toward U.S. 2 eastbound. The Audi crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a pickup traveling westbound on the highway.

The collision happened around 7 p.m. A juvenile passenger in the Audi died at the scene. The Audi’s 18-year-old driver from Wenatchee and another juvenile passenger were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries. Police said the driver of the pickup, a 2024 GMC Sierra, was unable to avoid the crash.

The second vehicle, possibly a Honda Civic, left the area before officers arrived. Investigators are asking the public for information that could help identify and locate the vehicle.

In the hours following the crash, school resource officers worked with Eastmont School District counselors, and the Chelan County Behavioral Health Unit offered support to students and families affected by the incident.

Multiple agencies assisted Wenatchee police at the scene, including the Washington State Patrol, Chelan and Douglas County sheriff’s offices, the Chelan County Coroner’s Office and East Wenatchee police.
