Marlin Handbell Ringers announce holiday concert series

LEAVENWORTH - The Leavenworth Marlin Handbell Ringers will perform three festive concerts across North Central Washington this holiday season. 

Directed by Joyce Phipps, the group combines the charm of English handbells with beloved Christmas melodies.

Experience the enchanting sound of 100 English handbells bringing beloved holiday classics to life. Audiences will be treated to timeless favorites like "Ukrainian Bell Carol," "Let It Snow," "Still, Still, Still," and "Deck the Halls."

Plus, the concert will conclude with a fun sing-along, inviting all to join in the festive cheer. 

The first concert Ring in the Season: A Marlin Handbell Christmas will be held on Sunday, December 8 at 2 p.m. at the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, Snowy Owl Theater. Tickets are $20 adults, $18 senior, $10 student at marlinhandbellringers.com.

On Sunday, December 10, the handbell ringers will perform A Marlin Handbell Christmas at Cornerstone Christian Church at 7 p.m. Admission is by donation. 

On Saturday, December 14, the handbell ringers will perform A Marlin Handbell Christmas at George Community Hall at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door and free for ages 12 and under.

The Marlin Handbell Ringers is a non-profit community music group that has captivated Leavenworth audiences for over 40 years. The group formed in 1979 to help promote the "Bavarian Village."

The Marlin Handbell Ringers is named after a local candy maker, Archie Marlin, who made and sold caramel apples to pay for the group's first set of bells.

The group regularly performs in December and May in various locations around North Central Washington. There are nine ringers and 108 English handbells.
