CHELAN — Cultura on the Lake will return to downtown Chelan Aug. 29 with an expanded lineup celebrating the craftsmanship, traditions and community surrounding lowrider culture.

The free, family-friendly event begins with the Low & Slow Cruise at 4:15 p.m., when dozens of lowriders, classic cars and street trucks will travel through the historic downtown before parking along Woodin Avenue for an evening showcase.

The Cultura Awards will begin at 8 p.m., recognizing vehicles across multiple categories for their craftsmanship, dedication and attention to detail.

A screening of “Roll Modelz” will follow the awards ceremony. The award-winning short documentary explores how lowrider culture brings people together, particularly during periods of grief and loss.

The film follows the Washington State Lowriders Car Club, based in Walla Walla. Members of the club are expected to attend the Chelan car show.

New this year, activities will continue from 8:30 to 10 p.m., with music, dancing and lowrider displays keeping Woodin Avenue active after the awards.

“Cultura on the Lake continues to grow because people connect with the stories behind these incredible vehicles,” Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mike Steele said. “It’s a celebration of craftsmanship, family, heritage, and community, and we’re excited to bring even more experiences to this year’s event.”

Organizers encourage visitors to arrive early, eat at downtown restaurants and explore local shops and wineries before remaining for the evening’s entertainment.

Cultura on the Lake is open to visitors of all ages. A full schedule and additional information are available at LakeChelan.com/Cultura.
