Local artist releases debut album with Leavenworth record label

LEAVENWORTH — Leavenworth-based, Argentine-American songwriter Hernán Savastano will celebrate the release of his debut album with a live concert at Snowgrass Lodge on Nov. 7. The album was produced by Benjamin Jay Thomas, founder of local nonprofit songwriting studio and record label, Bring Forth.

The album, “Mi Canción” (“My Song”), traces Savastano’s personal and spiritual journey through healing, loss, and rediscovery. Written in both English and Spanish, the album reflects his connection to nature, family and his Argentine roots.

“Mi Canción is about remembering where we come from,” said Savastano. “It’s about reconnecting with Mother Earth, with our ancestors, and with the parts of ourselves that long to sing.”

Savastano was born in Buenos Aires but raised in the U.S. after his family fled political unrest. His early music years were spent in Seattle’s folk scene with the duo Sweetheart Army, and later, the band La Dulce Vida.

For Savastano, “Mi Canción” marks a new chapter in his music journey – one rooted in authenticity, gratitude, and the healing power of song. For instance, “Stress of the Machinery” is described as a meditation on modern life’s pressures, while “Agua Sagrada” – his first Spanish-language song – is a prayer to the elements that helped him reclaim his native voice.

This release follows the Oct. 10 debut of “Flowers Will Grow” by singer-songwriter Nora B. Heath, making it the second full-length album to emerge from Bring Forth. The Leavenworth-based organization officially launched in late-August of this year.

Bring Forth’s mission is to cultivate “heart-centered creativity as a pathway to healing, emotional well-being, and cultural renewal,” through music, coaching and community events. It aims to support artists and individuals in connecting with their authentic voice, creating work that fosters growth and connection.

The album’s sound and atmosphere were shaped by the help of Thomas’s multi-instrumental contributions, and also features vocal performances from Heath, Drew Youngspring and Bridget Welch, with Jon Sizemore on percussion.

Savastano will celebrate the release of “Mi Canción” with a live concert at Snowgrass Lodge at 7 p.m. on Nov. 7. He will be joined by Heath on vocals, Thomas on keyboards and guitar, as well as Mica Akullian and Sizemore on percussion. The event is free with a suggested donation. Doors open at 6 p.m., and seating is limited. Attendees can RVSP here.

The digital album will be available at the event on a pay-what-you-want basis, with 50 percent of the proceeds going to the Yawanawá Tribe in Brazil, in honor of their cultural and spiritual contributions to this body of work. The remaining 50 percent will support Bring Forth’s ongoing mission.
