Leavenworth Village Voices returns with annual Christmas concerts

LEAVENWORTH — The Leavenworth Village Voices will return to the stage this December, inviting the community to “Celebrate Christmas with the Leavenworth Village Voices!” as the choir presents its holiday concert series, “A Season of Joy and Peace,” at Snowy Owl Theater at the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Snowy Owl Theater. Both concerts will feature the Bavarian Brass, and on Dec. 13, 2025 scholarship winner Paige Runions will join the performance.

Tickets are available in advance at the choir’s website or at the door.

The choir, led by director Mindy Wall, will present a repertoire of traditional carols, new arrangements, and seasonal favorites accompanied by pianist Nick Colletti. The group says the concerts offer families and visitors an opportunity to “share the magic of the Christmas season with the Leavenworth Village Voices” and continue a long-standing holiday tradition in the Upper Valley.

Founded in 1982, the Leavenworth Village Voices began as a year-round ensemble of church and community singers performing music and wearing attire that reflected Leavenworth’s Bavarian theme. The organization has now been performing for more than 40 years and today presents concerts exclusively during the Christmas season.

This year’s program includes “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” the perennial favorite “Mary Did You Know?,” and the African compilation “Sizalewe Indodana.” Each evening will conclude with the choir’s annual audience sing-along of Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus.

In addition to its theater performances, the choir will appear in the Front Street gazebo during the final weekend of Leavenworth’s Village of Lights and small groups of singers will carol throughout downtown in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

The choir encourages first-time attendees to take part, saying the performances are “guaranteed to inspire and send the audience out the doors spreading the peace, hope, and love of the season.”

Tickets and information about joining or booking the choir are available at the group’s website at leavenworthvillagevoices.org or Facebook page.
