WENATCHEE — Several hundred community members attended the 2026 Sustainable NCW Earth Day Fair on April 18, celebrating sustainability resources, initiatives, and services throughout the Wenatchee Valley.

Organized in partnership by Sustainable NCW and Wenatchee Valley College (WVC), the event aimed to celebrate the planet while empowering the community to work together for a more resilient, equitable, and environmentally sustainable future.

Over 50 vendors and local organizations took part in the Earth Day fair, including environmental clubs from Wenatchee and Eastmont high schools, Link Transit, Chelan PUD, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, the Wenatchee Valley Rotary Clubs, the NCW Audubon Society, the WSU Master Gardeners, Washington State Department of Natural Resources, and many more.

The day was filled with hands-on activities and opportunities to learn about recycling, active transportation, pollinators, local fish, flora and fauna, and more. It included a free yoga class, bike repair and maintenance tips, a scavenger hunt, planting activities, an instrument petting zoo, and a WVC Tree Tour. Link Transit and Plug-In NCW displayed electric vehicles and buses. The event participated in zero waste practices by having food vendors use compostable serving ware, as well as providing a Towards Zero Waste station for participants to deposit recyclable and compostable items.

Performances featured local talent, including Washington state Poet Laureate Derek Sheffield and his WVC students, Eastmont Mariachi from Eastmont High School, Wenatchee High School's Dance Teams, and the Wenatchee Valley Youth Symphony.

The annual Earth Day Fair was sponsored by Confluence Health, Link Transit, LocalTel, Cascade Autocenter, WM, The Nature Conservancy, Chelan PUD and others. This year, the event had its first Green Tunes sponsor, Sunrise Rotary, which sponsored performances and entertainment.
