Gunfire erupts near East Wenatchee intersection, police investigating

EAST WENATCHEE — Police are investigating a gunfire exchange reported Thursday night near 3rd Street NE and North Georgia Avenue.

At approximately 9:33 p.m. July 31, East Wenatchee officers responded to multiple calls reporting several gunshots in the neighborhood. Witnesses told police a dark-colored truck drove past a residence and fired at the property before fleeing toward Grant Road.

Officers later found the vehicle abandoned in the 1300 block of Clements Circle. The truck had several fresh bullet holes and was towed pending a search warrant.

Video evidence from the scene showed individuals inside the targeted home firing back at the vehicle, police said. Detectives executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered bullets lodged in the building’s interior and exterior, as well as spent shell casings and live ammunition.

The East Wenatchee Police Department said the investigation is ongoing and that detectives are working to identify and locate all suspects involved.
