WENATCHEE — A simple check in a parking lot can make a life-saving difference.
Target Zero and the Chelan-Douglas Health District will host a free car seat check clinic on April 24, offering families hands-on help to make sure child car seats and booster seats are installed and used correctly.
The clinic is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gateway Cinema, 151 Easy Way in Wenatchee. No appointment is required.
Organizers say the need is widespread. Four out of five car seats are installed incorrectly, a statistic that continues to drive outreach efforts across the region.
At the April 24 event, certified child passenger safety technicians will be available to walk caregivers through proper installation, answer questions, and make adjustments on site. The clinic also serves as a training opportunity for 18 newly certified technicians, giving them a chance to build experience while working directly with families.
The event is open to the public and designed to be approachable. Caregivers can arrive at any time during the four-hour window, receive guidance, and leave with greater confidence that their child’s seat is secure.
Organizers are encouraging community partners to help spread the word by sharing flyers, posting on community boards, and connecting directly with families who may benefit.
For families, it is a small stop with a clear purpose: making sure every ride starts a little safer.
