Entiat seeks community input, board members as playground plans take shape

Posted

ENTIAT — As plans move forward for a new playground expected to open in October 2026, the City of Entiat is inviting residents to help them shape what comes next.

City officials are seeking applicants to serve on the Park & Community Services Advisory Board, a group that provides recommendations to the City Council on parks, recreation programs and long-term community planning.

The board plays a role in guiding decisions on park improvements, trail development, recreation offerings and public gathering spaces, while also helping identify emerging needs within the community.

For residents, the opportunity comes at a moment when input could directly influence upcoming projects, including the design and features of the new playground.

Entiat is encouraging community members to share ideas ranging from traditional elements like slides and swings to climbing features and other additions that reflect how families want to use the space.

Applicants must live within the Entiat Valley and are asked to submit a letter of interest outlining their background and interest in serving.

Board members may also help support community events and act as a connection between residents and city leadership by gathering feedback and helping communicate local priorities.

Meetings are held as needed, depending on active projects and proposals.

Letters of interest can be submitted by email to city@entiatwa.us or delivered to Entiat City Hall at 14070 Kinzel St.
