EAST WENATCHEE — The holiday season arrives in East Wenatchee with sparkle and tradition as the city hosts its annual “Wings ’N Wishes” Tree Lighting event on Thursday, December 4, from 6–8 p.m. at the City Hall campus.
Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m., when the Sterling Junior High Choir opens the evening with seasonal carols. At 6:15 p.m., Santa arrives, escorted by a fire truck and the police, followed by the official tree lighting and a welcome from the mayor. Once the lights come on, “Santa’s Village” opens across the North Campus, offering photos with Santa, a large North-Pole mailbox for letters, free Frosty-the-Snowman face-painting, booths and activities from the Police and Fire Departments, treats from food vendors, and community fun until 8:00 p.m.
City Hall will serve as the backdrop for Santa’s Village this year, transforming into a holiday hub with special zones such as “Mrs. Claus’ Library,” where the East Wenatchee Library reads holiday stories, and the “Elf Patrol” photo booth at the Police Department featuring fun mugshots.
The event is sponsored by local partner Banner Bank and hosted in collaboration with the Wenatchee Valley Fire District and the North Central Regional Library. Vendors interested in food or craft booths are invited to register via the city’s Eventeny portal.
Families and community members are encouraged to arrive early with warm layers and bring a camera for memorable holiday photos. With this tree lighting, East Wenatchee officially flips the switch on the season’s festivities in a celebration rooted in local cheer and community connection.
