EAST WENATCHEE – Police were summoned to the 100 block of North Iowa Avenue early Monday morning after multiple reports were made about a “group of guys firing guns,” according to a release from Police Chief Rick Johnson.

Upon arrival just before 2 a.m., investigators found 21 shell casings at the scene, just a couple of blocks from Eastmont High School. Witnesses that officers spoke to reported having seen multiple people on foot apparently shooting at a vehicle in the area.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Wenatchee Police both responded to the reports and assisted with the initial investigation, Chief Johnson’s release said. No injuries were reported, and the investigation continues.

Police have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact RiverCom at 509-663-9911.
