Discover Lake Chelan Wines event expands to Boise, visits Spokane again

Posted

CHELAN – The Lake Chelan Wine Alliance will expand its tasting experiences this year to include Boise and will again visit Spokane.

Lake Chelan Wine Alliance’s Director of Community Engagement Renea Roberts said the events will showcase the exceptional wines that have made Lake Chelan a rising star in the Washington wine scene.

“Lake Chelan wines are experiencing a surge in popularity, thanks to their unique flavor profiles, the exceptional quality of the grapes, and the region’s picturesque setting,” Roberts said.

“The expansion to include Idaho reflects a recognition of the increasing connection between wine regions in the Pacific Northwest,” Roberts said. “By including Idaho, we aim to broaden our audience and showcase the diversity of wines produced in this corner of Washington.”

The first tasting is on February 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the Davenport Hotel’s Marie Antoinette Ballroom in Spokane.

The next tasting event will be at Boise’s Inn at 500’s Capital Room on Thursday, May 8 from 6-8 p.m.

Guests will enjoy exclusive tastings of award-winning wines from the Lake Chelan Wine Valley, paired with hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment. The events also offer an opportunity to meet the winemakers and discover the distinct flavors of the region’s reds, whites, and rosés, all shaped by Lake Chelan’s unique terroir.

“We’re excited to bring a taste of Lake Chelan to Spokane and Boise,” she said. “These events offer a chance for wine lovers to explore the exceptional quality and diversity of our wines while connecting with the passionate winemakers behind every bottle.”

Lake Chelan wines have been honored with over 100 Platinum, Best in Class, Double Gold and Gold awards across several North America and PNW wine competitions in 2024, Roberts said.

“Lake Chelan wines are special because of the terroir—a combination of volcanic and glacial soils, paired with a climate moderated by the lake, which creates ideal conditions for growing grapes,” she said. “This leads to wines that are vibrant, crisp, and well-structured. Visitors also enjoy the close-knit winemaking community, where they can meet winemakers and learn the stories behind each bottle.”

The Lake Chelan Wine Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the Lake Chelan Valley's wine industry. With over 85 members, the Alliance works to enhance the reputation of Lake Chelan wines through education, marketing, and community events.
