CHELAN — Tender Loving Care (TLC) for Seniors, a local nonprofit serving the Chelan Valley area since 2017, has obtained independent nonprofit status after operating under the fiscal sponsorship of Chelan Valley Hope.

The organization provides support services to seniors seeking to live independently, including regular check-ins, transportation, and social activities. TLC volunteers have contributed more than 14,000 hours of visits, averaging 1.9 hours per visit, and logged 24,000 miles providing transportation for appointments in 2023 and 2024.

"As TLC for Seniors moves forward we will continue to honor our seniors who seek to live independently in their own homes while receiving essential support services," the organization stated in its announcement. "Our TLC volunteers provide holistic support to their TLC friends addressing social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing by regular check-ins, social activities and advocacy."

The organization regularly hosts community events for clients, including an annual Fall Feast, Christmas singalongs, and holiday celebrations.

Sandy Zimchek serves as TLC's Executive Director. The organization maintains operations in Chelan and can be reached for referrals or volunteer opportunities at 509-699-9042.
