Cashmere’s Founder’s Day shows off community spirit with fun and festivities

Posted

CASHMERE — The 45th annual Founder’s Day Festival went off without a hitch this year, just in time to celebrate Cashmere’s 121st anniversary on July 1. Throughout the day, there were activities for the whole family to enjoy, from the food and vendor fair in the park to the artisan fair over at Side Street, there was something for everyone.

A ping pong ball drop, a salmon release, a car show, and pickleball tournament peppered the day’s events, culminating in the Crunch Pak parade down Cottage Avenue at the end of the festivities. Families gathered from throughout the Cashmere valley and some even came home for the festival from far off places to see their own families and friends back home.

The Cashmere Chamber of Commerce, as well as Crunch Pak and all of the sponsors of the Founder’s Day events were proud to present such a wholesome day of family fun and community celebration.

In a small town like Cashmere, when you hear that thousands of people showed up for something, you know it’s the town’s entire population. And when they come in from out of town as well, you know it’s Founder’s Day.
