Cashmere Music Department seeks volunteers for Leavenworth Summer Theater concessions

Posted

CASHMERE — It will be a double dose of the arts when you sign up to volunteer for the Leavenworth Summer Theater concessions for the 2025 season.

Founded in 1994 by John and Susan Wagner and Bill Weis, Leavenworth Summer Theater faced a challenging inaugural season. Devastating local fires, compounded by typical first-year hurdles, led to significant financial setbacks.

Undeterred, the Wagners decided to stage "The Sound of Music" in the summer of 1995. This production proved to be a resounding success, thanks to a talented cast, an ideal outdoor venue, and the show's perfect alignment with Leavenworth's Bavarian theme.

Today, Leavenworth Summer Theater stands as the largest theater between Seattle and Spokane, drawing over 20,000 visitors annually.

The 2025 season includes showings of “The Sound of Music,” of course, and “Carousel” at the Ski Hill Amphitheater, and “The Little Mermaid” at the Leavenworth Festhalle.

When you volunteer for concessions, you get to see the show for free, and the proceeds will be going to benefit the music programs of both Cashmere High School and Cashmere Middle School, proving that the two towns aren’t just neighbors, but friends.

You can sign up online at https://signup.com/go/DxmdoxE and see which shows still have spots to fill. There are spaces available through the end of August.

Come support the Cashmere Music Department and enjoy live theater while you’re at it!
