WENATCHEE — City officials announced Thursday that repairs have been completed on a broken sewer main that prompted water conservation measures across several Wenatchee neighborhoods.
The emergency repair work, which began Tuesday, restored service to residents and businesses in the Olds Station, Chatham Hill, and Sunnyslope areas. Crews worked continuously to replace a damaged section of pipe and return the city's sewer lift station to normal operation.
A portion of the broken main has been repaired with a new section of pipe installed where the break occurred. While sewer service has been restored, Old Station Road remains closed as crews continue restoration work in the surrounding area. Officials expect the road closure to extend into next week.
City officials thanked customers and community members who limited their water discharge during the repair work and acknowledged the numerous offers of assistance from the community.
Officials said they will provide updates when the road reopens. Residents with questions are directed to contact the City of Wenatchee at (509) 888-3235 or (509) 888-3600.
