Bandits of the Animal Kingdom to headline Cascade Medical Foundation’s Jive Time fundraiser

LEAVENWORTH — Cascade Medical Foundation’s annual Jive Time in the Cascades fundraising concert will return Sept. 20 with a new band and venue, aiming to raise money for critical medical equipment.

The event, scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. at Silvara Cellars, 77 Stage Road, will feature Bandits of the Animal Kingdom, a local group known for blending pop covers and original music.

“It’s literally impossible to sit still when they play: ukulele, mandolin, guitar, bass, sax, clarinet and vocals OH MY!,” said CMF Board Member Shannon Keller, who leads the Jive Time Committee. “And to think that the money raised on September 20th is going toward the purchase of a new cardiac monitor… well, that’s a win-win all the way!”

Tickets are $20 and available at cascademedicalfoundation.org.

Now in its fourth year, Jive Time has previously showcased swing and jazz from the Wenatchee Big Band, a 20-piece community-based orchestra. Keller said the committee wanted to introduce a different style this year.

“We love the Wenatchee Big Band and we might return to them in the future,” Keller said. “We wanted to change it up this year. I had seen the Bandits perform and thought they would be great fun!”

Silvara Cellars owner Gary Seidler, a longtime supporter of the foundation, donated the winery’s outdoor venue for the evening.

“We couldn’t be more excited,” Keller said. “It’s a beautiful setting and we are hoping for a wonderful turnout. Bring on the party animals! The outdoor setting has space for tables and dancing. And people can even bring a folding lawn chair.”

Food and drinks will be available for purchase, including wine from Silvara Cellars and “Mediterranean Box” offerings catered by Chop Chop Provisions, the catering arm of Mission Burger & Chicken. Menu items include grilled chicken shawarma, beet falafel, flatbread, hummus, baba ghanoush, and Greek salad.

The concert will also feature a “Buy It Now Board” with discounted gift cards donated by more than 30 local businesses.

Kahler Mountain Club, which hosts CMF’s annual golf tournament, is the lead sponsor. Other sponsors include Cashmere Valley Bank, Leavenworth/Pine Village KOA, Mike West Leavenworth Realty, Ogden Murphy Wallace Attorneys, Just Plain Grocery & Gas, and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group.

“We’re humbled to experience such generosity coming from the many local businesses that donated money and gift cards to help support Jive Time!” Keller said. “What supportive towns we have surrounding us! Thank you!”

Proceeds will fund a new cardiac monitor for Cascade Medical’s Mobile Integrated Health vehicle. The monitor will provide real-time tracking of heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse, along with telehealth options, ultrasound, and video laryngoscope.

Cascade Medical Foundation completed fundraising in June for its “Clinic Bundle,” which supplied a bladder scanner, a point-of-care ultrasound machine, specialty exam tables, and other equipment for Cascade Medical’s Family Practice Clinic. Since its founding in 1992, the nonprofit has provided more than $2 million for Cascade Medical.
