EAST WENATCHEE — A search warrant executed on Thursday, May 22 at around 4:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of 8th Street SE near Kentucky Avenue in East Wenatchee netted the city’s Police Department, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbia River Task Force two arrests and a cache of drugs, guns and items believed to be stolen property.

Officers arrested two men at the property: One was booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and the second booked for multiple outstanding arrest warrants.

Authorities may file additional charges based on the controlled substances, three guns, and all of the property that they believe is stolen. Among the property recovered are bicycles, generators and tools — the most commonly stolen items for pawn or resale.

East Wenatchee Police are still investigating and the EWPD is working to identify the rightful owners of the property in order to get it back to them.

In a statement, Assistant Police Chief Erik Hampton advised the public that If they have had a bicycle, generator, or tools stolen and would like to see if they’ve been recovered, they can call the East Wenatchee Police Department on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 509-884-9511 and select option 7 during the prompts to speak with the records department about identifying and retrieving stolen property.
