On February 20, 2026, Arvid “Skip” Elwain Uttech Jr., 76, disembarked peacefully, surrounded by his family. Born January 17, 1950, in Dickinson, he graduated from Bowman High School and served six years in the U.S. Army as a medic. He married Carol Jean Hedeen in 1974, and together they raised two sons, Tim and John. A devoted Christian, Skip taught science at Chelan Middle School for more than 20 years, inspiring generations with hands-on learning and spirited community involvement. In retirement, he treasured time with his five grandchildren, Iris, Rhyder, Ivin, Ellarae, and Tev. He faced Parkinson’s disease with faith and courage, leaving a legacy of love and service. He will be tremendously missed!
