On May 25, 2026, Alice Mae Cowles went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Alice was born on April 10, 1948, in New York, NY. She went to college in Madison, WI, for two years, then moved to the west coast in search of God. She found Jesus Christ and moved to Leavenworth, WA, in 1968. She worked as a waitress and began her real estate career of buying old houses and " flipping " them while raising her two sons, Jessie and Jody.
On January 14, 2006, she married the love of her life Bill Cowles and they made their home in Peshastin, WA. Alice loved cross country skiing and her dogs. Alice was a " messianic Jew ", born to a secular Jewish family, and was a born again Christian by choice. Her passion was the Jewish people, the nation of Israel, and Jesus Christ. She liked to say that an " unbeliever " will be born once and dies once, whereas the Christ believer will die once and be born twice.
She is survived by her two adult sons, Jessie and Jody; and her loving husband, Bill.
Heritage Memorial chapel of East Wenatchee, WA, and her pastors, Russell and Tammy Esparza are handling the funeral arrangements.
Funeral services will be held on June 8, 2026, at her church, Spirit Life Center, 210 Benton St, Leavenworth, WA, at 9:00 am for open casket viewing and 10:00 am her funeral service, conducted by Pastor Russell Esparza, continuing to Peshastin Cemetery at the corner of North Rd and Anderson Canyon Rd.
A week prior to her passing to Heaven she suffered a major stroke in church. We want to thank the Cascade ambulance crew for their great response in quickly getting Alice to the Leavenworth Emergency Room for quick treatment. She had to be air lifted to Harborview Hospital in Seattle. WA. for emergency brain surgery. Alice never regained consciousness and died five days later from massive brain damage.
Alice will be greatly missed by all of her close friends , her sons, and especially by her loving husband, Bill.
